maybe i need some support 🙂 I have a Leopard 2 A6 with TK7.0:
I have soldered two wires (pin 4 and 5) to the chip as you did in the video above. Pin 5 works just fine. I could use the left stick (up und down) and the servo is moving. I gues it turns 90 degrees. But the recoil (pin 4) does not work 🙁 The Servo does nothing if i usw button A + B (trigger a shoot). I guess pin 4 was correct for recoil?
Are there other soldering point for recoil signal? I have tried the other pins. On some of them i could move the right stick (and the servo was moving until i release the stick and then the servo moves back automatically). But i think this is not recoil, because with the right stick i would move the tank.
With Pin 5 i can feed my arduino with the signal and am able to stabilize the canon like the real leo 😀
Furthermore how would you connect/control a 360° servo for the turret?
Hello dude, yes pin 4 was correct for recoil but it’s a known issue with recoil servo not always working as expected. TK7.0 seems more complicated than TK6.0 and also they tried to fix that flaw to promote for their TK7.1. That version is coming with servo for cannon elevation & recoil. If people can modify 6.0 & 7.0, who will need 7.1 :)))
For 360, you need a slip ring that allow you to rotate the turret without fuckup the wires. It cost ~45$. You will need a motor, not a servo for 360 turret rotation.
For me, modifying HL is just for fun. Quality of HL board is below average. For entry level, I would recommend WH.TK16, which you can find here: WH.TKSZ16
If you want more advance controls, you can try IBU2U, Elmod, Beier, OpenTCB and recently, Kim Olsen has just released his new control board. I will share the review from Rad Industry soon.
For cannon stabilization & target lock (aka turret stabilization), I would use my own gimbal gyro board. Pre-configured by me, easy to connect and setup.
